Here's a peek at my week 9 pages.  I've noticed that I've cute way back on my photographing this year.  It's not really intentional, it's just been a crazy couple of months (really hoping for things to calm down a bit!!!).  However, with less photographs it's easier to cull through what I did take, and that's usually such a hard thing for me to do.

My approach is still just as simple as always, this week is page design A, the Kiwi Edition, photos and my fav fonts Helvetica Neue and Meuso Slab 500.

February Project Life Blog Hop

Welcome to the second of 12 Blog Hops from the 2014 Becky Higgins Project Creative Team! We are all passionate about Project Life & memory keeping and we wanted to continue to inspire each other and you as we move forward in 2015.

Man!  I do not know what it is about this year!!!  But I am having a hard time getting started!  I did my title page, which is always fun and a breath of fresh air, but I just haven't been able to get started!  Maybe its because January was totally crazy!  Like finding out that we have to move (soon!!!) because the owner of our rental wants to sell (I really miss living in "my own" home...) or maybe because of all the crazy meds/hormones I'm currently on (if you follow me on instagram you may have some idea of what I'm talking about...  *wink*).  I don't know.  But I'm thankful to be a part of this lovely bunch of ladies who help keep me on track.  I love that we are doing this blog hop and I love that it's keeping me motivated to keep working on my Project Life.  I DO LOVE Project Life, but I have definitely needed the outside motivation so far this year.  Hopefully my own PL motivation will kick back in soon!

On that note, I am super happy that I decided to take the full digital plunge!  I have always used the digi templates to plan out my pages (yep, that's my OCD for ya!).  I'm not sure yet how bad I'll miss the cutting and trimming and hand-feel of traditional PL, but I can say that so far, I have been relieved to not have these added steps so far...

But just so you know "so far" this year only has this one layout, um, that I just put together this past weekend (add in shocked emoji).  So, in all it's glory, here it is!

I  know, I know...  Not anything earth-shattering.  It's all my usual components: the Kiwi Edition, digi PL template and Ali Edwards digi stamps.  I'm also keeping my usual fonts (I like how it ties all my albums together), Helvetica Neue light and Muso Slab 500.

January Project Life Blog Hop

Welcome to the first of 12 Blog Hops from the 2014 Becky Higgins Project Creative Team! We are all passionate about Project Life & memory keeping and we wanted to continue to inspire each other and you as we move forward in 2015. Here is a look at what I've been working on:

I'm making a few changes to the way I use Project Life a bit this year.  First off, I'm going DIGITAL!  I have many reasons...  But I design most of my pages digitally first anyway and I'm really trying to SIMPLIFY (that's my One Little Word for 2015).  I plan to print the pages as 12x12 photos and ise the Becky Higgins 12x12 page protectors.  I just can't waint til the end of the year to be flipping through my PL album...  I may or may not have insert pages, we'll just see how it goes.  I'm still unsure if I'll be keeping my spreads as a weekly overview or if I'm just going to "scrap what I feel like".  I'm not going to give myself too many rules.  Remember, SIMPLIFY.

So, that brings me to another thing...  I seriously had a hard time picking a kit this year.  In order to keep things simple, in the past I've pretty much kept it to one Core kit per year (with some random inserts and pages with other specalty themes).  But I just plain can't decide in a Core kit for the year!

Here's my digi title page for 2015:

This is the Kiwi Edition (which I totally LOVE, but have already used in the past...).  Then, Becky recently announced a few new Core kits!!!  And I haven't seen any more than you all have, but I think I might switch over to the High Five kit when it becomes available!!!  How great does that kit look?!?!!  And seriously, Lili Niclass' designs are my FAV!  Love her!  I think it looks great for us, as a mom of just boys, I find most of the kits way to girly and the High Five kit looks a little more neutral from the pieced shared so far.

I'm excited to be SIMPLIFYing a bit more, maybe I can keep up better.  I'm not sure how much I'll miss cuttung and trimming and putting photos in pockets and the physical "hand-on" part of the traditional approach, so again, we'll just see how this goes!

p.s.  One more thing that gets me excited about going digital this year...  Being able to use whatever page design I want regardless of what's on the other side!  Haha, it's the small things. :)

Project Life: December 2013

The holidays really make it easy to get behind don't they?  Yikes, I'm just now putting together pages from LAST Christmas.  And you know what?  OH WELL!  That is life and it's SO easy to get cause back up (whatever that means to you...) with PL!

With these pages I used the Stampin' Up Seasonal Snapshot Kit as well and their Hello December kit.  Seriouslu LOVE what Stampin' Up is bringing to the Project Life table.

Oh my!  I totally died over that "that's a wrap!" card!!!  It was perfect for a New Year's Eve page.

Project Life: My parents wedding

Awe!  I'm not sure why, but I was inspired to whip up a page with my parents wedding photos.  They were married in 1975.  The photos were all square, so page design K was a great choice.  I used the Olive edition because it went so perfectly with the photos and their wedding colors.

Project Life: App vacation spreads

The Project Life App is just super fun, right?  With a lot of time in the car on our recent road trip (as well as my awesome new iPhone 6+!!!) I was able to put together some spreads with photos from our trip right as it was happening.  I do plan on giving more PL love to this trip, I thought it'd be cool to stick these pages in as well.  I printed them up as 6x6's and stuck them in page design E and there you go!

Project Life: 2014 week 41

Here's my spread for week 41, just a normal week in our crazy lives.  No super specal techniques here, which is what is so great about the Project Life system, simple and done!  I feel this isn't particularly a spread i just "love to peices", but that is also why I share it with you...  Not every spread has to be amazingly, amazing.  This tells our story and thats amazing to me!

Project Life: Legoland ride photos

Hi!  This worked out so wonderfully!  The ride photos from our Legoland trip were printed up 6x8 right there at the park!  (I'm a sucker for ride photos!).  So, to include them in my Project Life album I simply just slipped them right into the 6x8 page protectors and stuck them in (the 6x8 pages fit awesomely right in the 12x12 albums!).  Fun!

Project Life: Thanksgiving 2013

More from the archives of the blog...  Last year we spent Thanksgiving with some of my family in UT.  My parents were about to move (again) and decided that we would enjoy our Thanskgiving meal at the Sundance Resort.  It was great, but honestly, I really do prefer a "home" Thanksgiving.  Any home...  Loved spending time with the family though.

This layout features pages desogn T and the DIY value kit, I love how the colors of that kit worked with my photos of the day.

Project Life: 2014 Week 39 and insert

Hello, week 39 here!  Yep, pretty much my same-old, same-old here.  Still in love with the Jade Kit (and wondering which kit I'll use for next year, or if I'll try mixing it up, I've bee so OCD about sticking with 1 kit per year (except for inserts and special ocassions...) who knows!).

The insert is page design G and features our recent family photos (photographed my my super awesome friend Alysha (we went to photography school together)).

Project Life: Halloween 2013

Ah yes, still playing the catch-up game.  Most of you, my readers, know that the past year has kicked my butt pretty good, but I'm just here plugging away.  And that's what I most love about Project Life (and my blog).  I can get these pages done whenever the time permits.

For Halloween 2013 I used page design S (SO loving this page, I wish it came in a pack all its own!).  And I used the Stampin' Up! Seasonal Snapshot kit.  Who else is loving the PLxSU partnership?  For reals huh?!  I loved the cards and the digi stamps that came along with.  I'm SO not a "real stamp and ink" user, "ain't nobody got time for dat".  Haha!

Enjoy!  (Aren't my little pirates adorable?  I dressed up as a pirate too, just a bummer I didn't have any pics of me dressed up...).

 

Project Life: Baby books - First birthday!

Yep, still plugging away on the baby books, but I decided to skip ahead and put pages together from the boys first birthday (I needed to mix things up a bit...).

I LOVED their first birthday party (and can you believe I made both those cakes and the cupcakes?!?!?!????  I can hardly believe I did it myself!).  It was a fairly simple party with a few friends and some family and food and presents.

I used page Design F and the Teen Boy theme cards (um, no they aren't teenagers yet, the colors and designs of that kit were just perfect.  And I just LOVE Lili Niclass' designs, LOVE (let's get some more PL kits from her!)!  Oh and for good measure, the "birthday boy" word art is from Ali Edwards, who I total adore as well!

Project Life: Back to School - Pre-K

Back to school time!  My boys are in PM Pre-K this year.  I really haven't done any "year books" yet for them, but I plan to!  And here's the first page for their 2014-2015 school year.  I'd never had them try to write their names down before (they'll do letters here and there, but not words yet), but I thought it'd be a fun thing to include in this spread.  I LOVE how they wrote out their names!

The names are on the PL Ledger cards and the rest in from the Stampin Up Playground kit.  Love that kit!  So fun for kiddos and school themed pages.

Project Life: 2014 Week 33

Here's my PL spread for week 33.  Easy Peasy: Jade Edition, photo collages, 3x4 photos, al little Ali Edwards digi stamps, text on photos and instagram pics.

Project Life: Week 32 insert

This insert features our neighborhood end-of-summer block party and the fire trucks the neighbors had brought in.  The boys LOVED the fire trucks, it was so fun for ALL of the kiddos.

The insert page is Design Z trimmed down.  I actually did th e"pre-design" of this page using the Project Life App (it should be available really soon!!!).  I kept it really simple with just a little journaling about the party and a few filler cards from the Midnight Core kit.  Love how the red fire trucks pop with that edition!
