Project Life: Back to School - Pre-K

Back to school time!  My boys are in PM Pre-K this year.  I really haven't done any "year books" yet for them, but I plan to!  And here's the first page for their 2014-2015 school year.  I'd never had them try to write their names down before (they'll do letters here and there, but not words yet), but I thought it'd be a fun thing to include in this spread.  I LOVE how they wrote out their names!

The names are on the PL Ledger cards and the rest in from the Stampin Up Playground kit.  Love that kit!  So fun for kiddos and school themed pages.

Project Life: 2014 Week 33

Aug 17

Boxes are the best!  I'm always glad when we get a big box in the mail, so fun for the little dudes.

 

Yes, for dinner Sunday evening I made myself some Trader Joe's chocolate croissants.  Very healthy, let me tell ya!  If you haven't tried these, go get some.  And if you have, you know what I'm talking about.

 

Aug 18

Happy first day of school!  The boys are in a Pre-K class this year and it's in the afternoon.  The afternoon schedule will take some getting used to, but we're excited for school to start (same school, same teachers).

 

Oh, and this year I got the boys these nifty drink/snack cups for preschool.  They both really want a lunch box, but I'm not ready to buy them full on lunch boxes yet (especially when they don't really "need" one).

 

Later Monday evening we got to facetime with Becka and Lincoln and Ender.  The boys just LOVE their cousin Lincoln. (They always ask when he's going to come visit again).  We need to do this more often, Becka!

 

Aug 19

Lunch time.  It's been weird feeding the boys 2 meals before school.  And yes, they've been intheir pj's or naked til right before school starts so far...  Need to get a real routine that's going to work for us, this afternoon thing is throwing me!  (oh and Tuesday was picture day, so that's one of the reasons I didn't dress them til right before school...  Don't want to mess up picture day outfits...).

 

Crazy storm clouds.  I can't think of the last day we didn't get at least a few drops of rain...  Not that that's a bad thing or anything...

 

Aug 20

Donut Saturday, but on a Wednesday!  FUN!

 

What's up with the never ending road construction in this town?  They keep tearing up perfectly good roads, I don't get it.

 

Aug 21

This kid is just like his Grandpa Bob, loves his peaches!  And he always has to make sure I'm going to include cream and sugar, "please I want some peaches.  With cream and sugar!".  Jonas has actually become a recent fan of peaches and cream as well, this makes me SO happy (he has been refusing fruit for most his life!).

 

Aug 22

This year, I decided to try for a beginning of the year handwriting sample.  Not too bad.  I helped Jonas just a bit, but Elliott did that all by himself!

Aug 23

Saturday Lisa and Camille came over to play.  Camille was really into the cars this time, I think Lisa's going to have to buy her some.  I love how good the boys are with her, so sweet.

Aug 10

Mom bought us some pretty flowers to enjoy while she was in town.  Thanks mom!!!

 

Aug 11

We finished making the boys super capes.  Batman & Superman.  The boys LOVED them!  Yay!  Thanks again, mom, for helping out with a project (she sewed the capes and I made the super symbols).

 

Aug 12

Pre-K is about to start, and this year the teachers requested full length and close up photos of each student.

 

We've got to soak up all this green and nice weather before it's all gone...  I'm not ready for Fall!!!

 

We don't play in the front of our house much, we live on the main thru-road in our neighborhood and its a bit scary sometimes, but Tuesday mom and I watched the boys roll up and down the driveway for a while.

 

Then, we did a little back-to-school shopping at the mall.  Yeah, the boys really don't care much for the mall.  But I got this cute selfie with all of us waiting for the elevator.

 

The moon was awesome Tuesday night and I had to take a photo of it.

 

Aug 13

Wednesday was Pre-K orientation at the boys school.  Mostly the same as last year; more forms to fill out, 1 new therapist and a new start time to get used to.

Aug 14

Ugh, we had to go back to the mall on Thursday, I really should have made the boys get their feet measured and try on their shoes before we bought them...  It was miserable, but we got the sizes figured out.  They liked playing in the little play area at Nordstrom, but when it's time to go, ugh, what a scene.

 

Aug 15

Mommy got some back to school shoes too!  SO cute!!!

 

Aug 16

Saturday was lazy and we stayed in our jammies all day.  For just a little while in the afternoon I took a little break from the boys and just laid in bed eating TJ's kettle corn (seriously, that stuff is like crack!).

 

But, when I came back downstairs I noticed another self-coloring incident.  Oh well.

Project Life: Week 32 insert

This insert features our neighborhood end-of-summer block party and the fire trucks the neighbors had brought in.  The boys LOVED the fire trucks, it was so fun for ALL of the kiddos.

The insert page is Design Z trimmed down.  I actually did th e"pre-design" of this page using the Project Life App (it should be available really soon!!!).  I kept it really simple with just a little journaling about the party and a few filler cards from the Midnight Core kit.  Love how the red fire trucks pop with that edition!

Aug 3

I've probably said it a thousand times already, but I'll say it again, I LOVE haveing a fully fenced in backyard!  Love it!  And I love what's contained in our backyard.  Our yard is rather big for our neighborhood and I'm thankful for that everyday!

I'm teaching Elliott how to rub my back.  He's learning pretty well.  Happy :)  Thanks buddy!

 

Aug 6

Yes, Matt just cut a huge hole in my dad's Porsche...  Dad's car is in the Slipshod Resto's workshop for weight reduction, a roll cage and club racing prep.

 

Later on Wednesday we took a little family trip to Ikea (to get new lamps and pillows).  It was dumping rain right after we made our purchase, so we decided to stay for dinner.  And while we dined we had the pleasure of viewing this awesome rainbow.

 

Aug 7

Thursday was bloodwork day for Jonas (he goes once a month).  He's my hero, he says "ouch" but doesn't cry or tear up anymore.

 

We had a little afternoon hail storm, not too big.

 

 

 

And finally, Grandma Lynn made it!!!  She got stuck in some crazy Denver rush hour traffic right before arriving.  We're glad she made it safely!

 

Aug 8

So fun!  Friday night we had a neighborhood end-of-summer block party.  I'm not sure who had the hook up, but we had two firetrucks at the party and rides for the kiddos (on the vintage truck)!  The boys were in heaven!  Too bad Matt missed it.

 

Aug 9

Grandma Lynn promised to help make the boys super capes while she was visiting (they'd been asking for a while now).  Saturday we went to Joann's to get all the neccessities and we began making them in the evening.

Project Life: Family photos album

Over the years we've had our family photo taken quite a few times.  I've printed out a very limited number of the awesome photos for display in our home or to send to loved ones.  I was just thinking the other day how sad it is that these great photos mostly just hang out on a hard drive.  So, I decided to make a whole album dedicated just to our family portrait sessions!  That way, more of the awesome and funny shots are out of the computer and ready to be shared and enjoyed!

I LOVE how this turned out and I plan on adding to it every time we have our family photo taken.  I used the Midnight 6x8 album and the Midnight core kit and paper.

I didn't include all the pages, but you definitely get the idea.  For each "session" I printed my most favorite image 6x8 and then other favorites 4x6 and 3x4.  The only journaling I included was: the date, where the photos were taken and who photographed us.  Other than that, I filled up the spaces with filler cards and trimmed down 12x12 paper.

Project Life: NASCAR off-weekend

In NASCARland there are only 2 weekends that they don't race between the middle of February til the end of November.  It's a brutal schedule!  So, when one of these amazing weekends come around, we try to take advantage.

This weekend we did a stay-cation of sorts.  We went to the movies, playes together, went to the drag races and had the boys first ever backyard campout.  The boys totally LOVED the campout!  It deserved a whole spread in our PL album just for the occasion.

 

I used the Outdoors theme cards for these pages, but I digitally modified one of the cards.  Love it!

Project Life: Baby books

Yep, still plugging away on my boys baby books (um, yes, they will be 5 years old soon, yikes!).  I hope to have them done before thier birthday this year, we'll see.  Thank goodness for Facebook and all the little tidbits I shared with the world about them.  I know exactly when they got a tooth or rolled over, or crawled and took their first step.  Modern technology = awesomeness!
